Programs
Employees who choose to participate, with department leadership permission, may wear casual clothing to work on Fridays or other designated days by donating at least one dollar for the assigned charitable organizations. At the end of each year, the BOC accepts nominations of charitable organizations for the following year.
Charity: 4 Paws 1 Heart
Services: Funds medical treatment for abandoned, stray, and abused animals.
Charity: American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
Services: A voluntary health organization that gives those affected by suicide a nationwide community.
Charity: The Arc
Services: Securing all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to choose where and how they learn, live, and work throughout their lifetimes.
Charity: Autism Connect
Services: Programs for individuals with autism and their families.
Charity: The Chaldean Community Foundation
Services: Helping develop language and life-skills, cultural competency, and workplace training.
Charity: The Clinton River Watershed Council
Services: Their mission is to protect, enhance, and celebrate the Clinton River, its watershed, and Lake St. Clair.
Charity: Good Shepherd Coalition
Services: Assists families with homelessness, loss of heat, electricity, and vital needs.
Charity: Homes for Heroic Forgotten Veterans
Services: Transitional housing for veterans, giving them a safe, welcoming place to live until they get back on their feet.
Charity: Humane Society of Macomb
Services: A no-kill shelter that cares for dogs and cats until they are placed in their fur-ever homes.
Charity: Meals on Wheels
Services: Provides hot, nutritious meals to frail, homebound senior citizens.
Charity: Paws, Awes, and Claws (PAC)
Services: Provides humane care for abandoned and/or injured animals, as well as rehoming pets that are surrendered.
Charity: Raising American Heroes Organization
Services: Serves the needs of families of deployed service members.
Charity: Samaritan House
Services: Serving individuals and families within our community by recognizing their needs and mobilizing the means for dealing with those needs so that suffering can be relieved, dignity preserved, and love shared.
Charity: Vision Hope
Services: Supports important experiences to the children in the foster community.
Charity: Marty’s Place
Services: A non-profit animal preserve/ sanctuary in Bruce Twp. They provide fun and educational interactions between humans and animals, great volunteer opportunities for the community, and a tranquil place for visitors to enjoy!
Charity: Supporting Kids in Pain (SKIP)
Services: A children’s charity for the benefit of sick children in hospitals, and under-privileged children.
