Mai Xiong was elected to her first term on the Macomb County Board of Commissioners in November 2020. Xiong represents the residents of Center Line and parts of Warren.
Xiong earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the College for Creative Studies with a focus on Web Design. She is the owner and designer of Mai&Co, a modern Hmong-American apparel and accessories brand with a storefront in Warren. She currently volunteers for a local chapter of the Lions Club and serves as a Board Member of the Macomb Food Program. She was recently named a 2022 Fellow for the Michigan Political Leadership Program at Michigan State University.
As a member of the Board of Commissioners, Xiong’s top priorities include supporting small businesses, advocating for the expansion of broadband infrastructure, and encouraging public health initiatives to protect the County’s most vulnerable populations. Xiong is also committed to ensuring the County’s budget remains balanced.
Mai speaks fluently in her native tongue, Hmong. As a result, she is also an occasional consultant for a translation and interpretation service organization.
