About Barbara

Commissioner Zinner was elected in 2020 to District 10, serving Harrison Township and most of St. Clair Shores.  She has been a Licensed Practical Nurse for 47 years, working for 34 years in hospitals with acute care patents, in nursing homes, and home care settings with patients needing multiple areas of care.  She was appointed by Governor Engler to be on the Social Work Board of Appeals for 6 years in Lansing.  She was elected to the Macomb County Republican Executive Board for over 20 years. She believes in a strong economy and promotes the American Values and Constitutional Rights.  She is a member of the Daughters of Macomb, a Macomb County women resident group that supports hometown values.  She is a lifelong Macomb County resident who has been married for 42 years with 3 adult children, 2 sons-in-law and 5 grandchildren.
